Emergency Preparedness

Emergency Preparedness

Working with local, regional and statewide agencies, local public health agencies are on the front lines in preparing for health emergencies in northeastern Minnesota. Local public health is also a critical partner in other types of emergencies, such as floods, heat waves and power outages.

Preparedness is a three-part process:

  1. Assuring a trained public health workforce that’s ready to respond
  2. Maintaining close relationships with other emergency response partners
  3. Informing the public about what their role is in emergency response

Through this planning, counties prepare for disasters and are ready to respond and recover quickly in case of any emergency.

Make a plan for disasters and emergencies.
