Emergency Preparedness

Working with local, regional and statewide agencies, local public health agencies are on the front lines in preparing for health emergencies in northeastern Minnesota. Local public health is also a critical partner in other types of emergencies, such as floods, heat waves and power outages.

Preparedness is a three-part process.

Training a Skilled Workforce

Ensuring public health professionals are trained and ready to respond effectively.

Building Strong Partnerships

Maintaining close coordination with emergency response partners.

Public Education

Empowering individuals with knowledge of their role in emergency response.

Through this planning, counties prepare for disasters and are ready to respond and recover quickly in case of any emergency.
